This first stakeholder workshop "5G Equipment and Services Supply Market Trends and Perspectives on Open Initiatives" will take place as an online event on Wednesday, 16 December 2020 from 10:00-12:30.

This workshop will be the opportunity to review the main findings of an ongoing independent study on the 5G supply market trends and Open RAN and to exchange views and collect stakeholders input and opinions on the findings of the baseline assessment.

Objectives of the Workshop

The Workshop aim is to provide an overview on the concept of the study to interested stakeholders and collect opinions and views on the findings of the baseline assessment of 5G supply market trends and the current state of play of relevant open initiatives.

Key points to be presented and discussed at the workshop will be:

  • What is the state-of-play of 5G deployment and supply market trends in Europe?
  • Which technological and political developments are driving the supply market landscape?
  • How is the advancement of open radio networks going to impact the future of 5G deployment and its supply markets?
  • What are the most important factors driving these developments? Which challenges and opportunities are ahead?

The workshop will be attended by stakeholder representatives from mobile network operators, vendors of equipment and services and related associations, open initiatives and standardisation bodies, European and EU Member States policy makers, and vertical industries/services potentially benefitting from 5G technologies.

Please note that the workshop will be organised fully remotely through a web-conferencing system (HopIn) which also allows participants to interact with presenters. If you are interested in this event, you can already see the Workshop’s agenda.
